Struggling to pick the perfect place to have your pre wedding/ couples photos? Maybe you want to use them for your ‘save the dates’ or maybe you just want something a little more adventurous? See this beautiful location in exmoor national park for inspiration.
ABOUT THE COUPLE:
Names: Abbie & Aaron
Been together: 8 years
Getting married: September 2021- Mallorca.
I asked Abbie a few questions so that you can get to know the couple behind the photos.
HOW DID YOU MEET? :
Aaron messaged me on twitter asking if it was me on a motorbike that just passed him? HAHAHA (i do not drive a motorbike) and then we got chatting!
Not sure if this was a smooth move or not!
HOW DID HE POP ‘THE QUESTION’?
He proposed over a meal with my family in Greece. It was what i had always wanted, to have my family there. It was in a restaurant overlooking the sea and it was perfect!
I later found out that Aaron had actually planned to propose in the room but bottled it! He had the room decorated out but had to get someone else on the holiday to run back and take down the decorations one night because he bottled it! hahahaha.
Name of your venue?
We are actually keeping it a secret from all of our guests until the day! WE want it to be a surprise but it’s in Mallorca.
Why did you choose your venue?
We viewed 8 different venues in the U.K and both just couldn’t decide on one we loved. Nothing seemed to feel ‘us’. We decided to look abroad and flew out to Mallorca to view some venues out there. We booked to see 2 venues i had seen online. One of which was Louis Vitton’s hotel named ‘Las Redidencia’ and the second was our chosen venue.
We loved both venues and they both instantly felt more us. We decided on our venue as it wasn’t a hotel, therefore there won’t be any other guests present on our day, that aren’t part of our party. The backdrop and the scenery around our venue was what sold us and we couldn’t have imagined anyone else doing our venue justice but Courtney.
YOUR JOB OCCUPATIONS:
Aaron is a contract manager and i am a finance administrator.
THINGS YOU BOTH LOVE:
We both LOVE our puppy (Rocket)
Going on holidays
THINGS YOU BOTH. HATE:
An untidy house
THE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
I had my eyes on this location for months. As soon as I had seen it online, I knew I had to take a couple here to elope or for their photoshoot. It’s dramatic and beautiful. Everything I love in a location.
Abbie and Aaron love to go out on adventurous walks, so i knew this was the right place for them!
I came here a few weeks earlier with my partner to scout it out. It was around a 2.5 hours drive from Bristol (where I live) but I knew it would create beautiful results.
I suggested the location to Abbie who was equally obsessed. It had the best of the south of England’s coastline mixed with a beautiful forest full of waterfalls.
Nestled in amongst Exmoor national park sits the valley of the rocks. About a 5 minute drive from the rocks is watersmeet. It reminded me of being back in New Zealand. It was magical.
We had planned to try and arrive there early to beat the crowds as the rocks are a popular hiking place. If travelling taught me anything, it’s timing is everything when it comes to popular and beautiful locations!
For me, there are 3 things that make a great couples/pre wedding/engagement shoot.
1- The couple
